Call Of Duty 4 Game Help and Maps ⇒ cod4 directx encountered an unrecoverable error

I woke up this morning and had this problem when I tried to enter cod4

cod4 directx encountered an unrecoverable error wow did I panic when I saw that error.

It took a while but I finially found the problem after spending a few hours trying everything I could think of.
I was so pissed that I was about to reformat my hard drive and start all over.

It was my video drivers that caused the problem
I pulled out and dusted off (lol) my orginal video driver disk and had it uninstall the drivers and reinstall the orginal ones and all
works good again no cod4 directx encountered an unrecoverable error at all
